Canadian K-9 inducted into Hall of Fame
8 May 2013
A Vancouver, Canada K-9 will make it into the Animal Hall of Fame. K-9 Teak, as well as three other dogs, is being honored by Purina, according to News 1130.
The act that puts Teak into the hall of fame happened back in January. Teak, a German shepherd, was chasing down an armed robbery suspect when it appeared like the suspect was punching the dog in the head. Teak's handler Derrick Gibson later realized Teak was really being cut with a box cutter.
After the incident, which Gibson said left him in shock, Teak needed two surgeries. Teak was also diagnosed with cancer during his recovering.
He has now settled into retired life with Gibson and his wife and Gibson says it's the good life for Teak.
"He gets as many treats as he wants and he doesn’t get into any trouble for anything he does. He gets lots of hugs, kisses, and walks and we take a lot of pictures.”
The three other include a Bernese Mountain Dog, a Border Collie/ Lab mix and a Border Collie/Pointer mix.
